Tom of Finland Foundation (ToFF) is excited to announce the receipt
a $10,000 grant from the David Bohnett Foundation (DBF).
These funds will be used to purchase the “Bohnett Art Preservation
Pod” – a refurbished, insulated shipping container which is climate
controlled, self-contained and is both fire proof and weather
This investment is something that the DBF sees as extremely important.
In these difficult economic times, the arts need help even more.
Michael Fleming, executive director of the DBF was pleased to
be able to support one of the oldest arts organizations of its
kind, here in the heart of Los Angeles. The grant provides a much
needed addition to ToFF’s art storage capacity and allows more
artists a safe place to have their work preserved.
“For over 25 years, ToFF has been at the forefront of protecting
art, preserving our heritage, and promoting artists,” said Durk
Dehner, ToFF president and cofounder. “This grant will allow us
to provide more access to scholars of all levels, as we will be
able to house more of our extensive permanent collection on site.”
“Our thanks goes out to David Bohnett, Michael Fleming and the
entire staff of the David Bohnett Foundation for recognizing the
importance of preserving this significant collection,” said Bo
Tobin, ToFF development director.
The “Bohnett Art Preservation Pod” will be on site by early summer
and then the process of relocating artwork will begin. An inauguration
party will be announced.
