TOM  OF  FINLAND  FOUNDATION

A BIG Thank You to Our Renewing and Current Members!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your membership! You are the Foundation's main support system. You keep our programs active.

The future for the visual erotic arts within our community and beyond is in a delicate situation. As a community we are not as committed nor identify with what makes us different, special, unique... any term you choose, they all lead to the door of funding us or not – to continue our existence or not. There are still groups who would like us to vaporize into non-existence. The erotic arts legitimize the merit and positive contributions of being gay — and sexual beings.

My observation is that only those who have the awareness and appreciation for the beauty of this subject matter are going to contribute. The government isn't going to do it. Although we are a non-profit, grants — with the exception of the City of West Hollywood — are rare. In order for cultural assets, such as the Foundation, to continue to exist and expand, all of us must be involved.

This is our culture and we are all its guardians. Choose to cherish this responsibility, for in this day and age there is little that we can actually call our own.

Our members are the best ambassadors the Foundation can have. We count on you to help us spread the word about the Foundation's mission. Share your support, and nurture your friends’ interest in the erotic arts. Consider recommending or gifting membership to a friend who shares your interest in erotic art.

Durk Dehner, President and co-founder of the Foundation
