- SO GOOD IT WAS ILLEGAL! Tom's Bar, the annual celebration of Tom of Finland's birthday, is always a terrific event, featuring music, fun things to do (like the “Stick the Rubber on the Porn Star” game), and, of course, hundreds of hot men and women. Well, this year, there were more than hundreds – in fact, according to the Police and Fire Departments, there were a thousand. Which is why they shut the party down an hour and a half before it was scheduled to end! What can we say? The Faultline, L.A.'s premier leather bar, which was hosting the event for the first time, is the most popular place in town for guys to hang out on a Sunday afternoon. Combine that with the appeal of a Tom of Finland Foundation event, and well... Anyway, the event netted close to $5,000 for the Foundation, and right up to the time the fuzz busted us, everyone was having a great time. As one partygoer was overheard to say on the way out, “Well, this party didn't suck!” And where else do you get to pass through a gauntlet of hunky cops and firefighters on the way to your car?!? Hope y'all will join us next year! (We promise the only cops you'll see will be ours...) |
