| George Cayford is an artist
who concentrates on the male form as an object, rather than a
figure in a setting. He loves to deploy his excellent technique
in exploring the shapes and perspective of the male body in any
position, whether sitting, lieing down or standing.
He honed his technique running his own graphic design company
before being head-hunted by the London College of Printing to
teach life-drawing. Now retired, he is the head of the Gay Artists
Group (formerly the famous Beardsley Group) which organizes life
drawing classes for professional artists in London.
In his upcoming exhibition, George has further refined the graphic
element in his drawings, working with mixed media on a gesso ground
on canvas. The results are images of remarkable subtlety and beauty
that demonstrate the accuracy of his observation and his stunning
technical ability.
An exhibition not to be missed by admirers of traditional fine
art skills and lovers of male art.
