REX’S “SEX FREAK CIRCUS”

Cocktail party and ribald entertainments Thursday, 7:00 - 9:30 PM
Price: $25

"An exhibition of prints – giant blowups – of the SEX FREAK CIRCUS set.
Its the first public exhibition as a complete set since it was done 20 years ago."
— REX

Dress will be heavy. The art will be legendary.

This exhibit features graphic and highly sexual artwork.
(They wouldn’t have it any other way.)

Just in time for the Black Party, a presentation of the erotic art of REX, the controversial artist who created the logo for New York’s legendary leather bar, The Mineshaft. You may have seen Tom of Finland, but have you seen Rex?

This is the first time his “SEX FREAK CIRCUS” collection will be shown in completion since 1992 – and it’s not for the prudish! They’re slinging up all 12 pen-and-ink prints amid an environment of sex-circus spectacles and entertainment.

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.

TOM ON HIS WORK
"Yes, I consider my work pornography. Pornography means to stimulate peoples' sexual feelings, and I'm always very aware of that. My motive is lower than art." — Tom of Finland from the MSC Finland Website.
