The Awards Banquet will be held at Hugo’s Restaurant, 8401 Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, with cocktails at 8:00 PM and dinner at 8:30.

Presentation of the Lifetime Achievement to Charles W. Leslie and J. Frederic Lohman, the Cultural Icon to Camille Paglia, and the Erotic Artist Hall of Fame Awards to Michael Kirwan.

Messrs Leslie and Lohman, both successful businessmen in New York, have been partners for more than 45 years. They started showing art in their Manhattan loft in 1969, and operated a commercial gallery in the late 1970s and early 1980s. In 1990, they created The Leslie-Lohman Gay Art Foundation, a non-profit headquartered in Manhattan’s SoHo district. The Foundation has a permanent collection of close to 3,000 pieces, and conducts a regular schedule of exhibitions in its gallery space. Previous recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award have been Hugh Hefner, Larry Flynt, Benedikt Taschen, and Durk Dehner.

Camille Paglia is University Professor of Humanities and Media Studies at Philadelphia’s University of the Arts. An outspoken author and social commentator, Paglia’s fifth book – “Break, Blow, Burn: Camille Paglia Reads Forty-Three of the World’s Best Poems” – will be published by Pantheon in March. When told of the Award, Paglia commented, “It is certainly a great honor to be given the Cultural Icon Award by the Tom of Finland Foundation. Over the years, I have repeatedly expressed my immense admiration of Tom’s work and hailed it as a major artistic influence on Robert Mapplethorpe, among others.” Previous recipients of the Award, given occasionally to an individual for his or her artistic achievement and personal accomplishment, are Rob Halford and Clive Barker.

Artist Michael Kirwan lives and works in Miami Beach. His art was first published in magazines in the mid-1980s, and since then, his works have been seen around the world in exhibitions, publications, and private collections. Previous inductees into the Hall of Fame are Tom of Finland (posthumously), H. R. Giger, William Schmeling aka “The Hun,” and Herb Ritts (posthumously).
