OVER A QUARTER CENTURY OF DEDICATION TO PROTECTING, PRESERVING AND PROMOTING EROTIC ART.
|SUCCESS IN THE BIG APPLE
Tom of Finland Foundation hosted its Second Annual New York City
Erotic Art Fair this past July, and number two was even bigger and
better than the inaugural. With 35 artists' booths, more than 50 artists
represented, and over 800 in attendance, sales topped $21,000 during
the three day weekend event. Our hosts at The Center in Chelsea were
both gracious and accommodating, and the synergy generated between the
artists and the attendees suggests that it was a cultural experience
for all concerned.
Artists who have attended fairs in both Los Angeles and Manhattan enjoyed the contrast between the two. Our sincere gratitude to HX Magazine, our main media sponsor; The Center, for providing the space which made it possible; and the Leslie-Lohman Foundation, Visual Arts, the New York Body Archive, Wessel-O'Connor, GMSMA, and Art@Large, all of whom assisted us by promoting the event to their memberships.
thank you all for your support and fellowship in this collaboration.

“I know my little ‘dirty drawings’ are never going to hang in the main salons of the Louvre, but it would be nice if — I would like to say ‘when,’ but I better say ‘if’ — our world learns to accept all the different ways of loving. Then maybe I could have a place in one of the smaller side rooms.” (1991) — Tom of Finland
