An exhibition of photographs, collages and collaborations.

Opening reception on Thursday, February 10, 2005, 6 - 9:00 PM Admission is free.

An on-line gallery is available.

Mr. Leyba’s work has been collected by quite a few notables - Vincent Price, William S. Burroughs, Stephen King, Clive Barker, David Cronenberg, and H.R. Giger. Included in this exhibition is his very controversial 5’ x 7’ American flag piece, “A Thousand Cuts”, recently curated for the Erotic Museum in Hollywood, then rejected because of content.

An artist of considerable contention and a first look at Leyba’s work defies definition. He calls it “Sexpressionism”, and his influences stem largely from his Native American heritage. In these mixed media works, everything from photo collage, paint, blood, hair and intricate beadwork can be found here.

Rik Garrett uses a time-honored, hands-on technique rather than succumb to modern digital tools. In addition to unconventional darkroom procedures and heavy negative retouching, Garrett also utilizes various lesser-used chemicals and assaults his work with sharp implements. This "tough love" approach keeps them from being less than presentable. His collaborations with Leyba show a kindred haunting of the same muse.
