The winners of the 2001 Emerging Erotic Artist Competition were honored at the Foundation Awards Banquet in October. Artists Philip Hitchcock and Jay Jorgenson who was co-winner of the 1999 Grand Prize presented the awards in the categories of Single Figure, Multiple Figure, Photography, and Fantasy/Fetish. The artist Dragon, from San Francisco, was the big winner, capturing First Prize in both Multiple Figure and Fantasy/ Fetish, as well as the Grand Prize for his Fantasy/Fetish entry. The winners were determined using a blind scoring process by the following distinguished panel of judges: Gordon Baldwin, curator; Cliff Benjamin, Mark Moore Gallery, Santa Monica; Nayland Blake, artist and professor at Bard College New York; Gisela Schadel, Erotic Art Museum, Hamburg, Germany; and Stewart Hardman, Adonis Gallery, London, England.
